This is the blog of John and Micah and David Epp. They are all very advanced for their ages, so you might want to check this regularly to see what they are up to.

some firsts
Well, before we left on our holiday trip, we had some exciting occurences. John is lying down, relaxing, and we're engaged elsewhere - when suddenly we notice he is sitting up! That's right - he is no longer entirely floorbound.
Next, Amy walked into John's room and was shocked to see him standing up in his crib - reaching out to try grab the baby monitor. So - he is also no longer ass-bound either. There's probably a more polite way to say that, but I couldn't think of it in the heat of the blogging moment :-)
So - it appears that we need to drop his crib bed down to the lower level so that he won't go toppling out when we aren't paying attention.
The third thing that happened was some first steps! John was hanging on to Amy's hands and tottering around at our Vineyard family carnival - when he came up to the big bouncy tent. Amy stopped a little ways away from it and he took three steps away from Amy to get to the tent. We don't think he actually knoew he wasn't being held - because normally he doesn't like to move at all without two (not one!) hands holding onto his.
Anyway, we had a good drive down to the coast with him and we're looking forward to some relaxing in Surrey.
