This is the blog of John and Micah and David Epp. They are all very advanced for their ages, so you might want to check this regularly to see what they are up to.

A brief explanation
So, I've been feeling bad that we haven't added anything for such a long time. Our computer is still down and I'm stuck using this lousy laptop that I don't know how to upload from. We have a camera full of pictures (like 4 gigs worth) and I can't even show them off :( Okay, enough complaining.
Storywise, I should be able to come up with a few things.
Micah is now 7 weeks old. Just before his 6 week bday he weighed in at 11 lb 12.9 oz, meaning that he put on 3.5 lbs in 6 weeks. Not bad :) He also grew 2 inches in that time. We discovered tonight that his feet are ticklish - he smiled like crazy when I tickled him and I think I just might get a giggle out of him if I keep at it. He really loves his dad and will talk away to him, repeating some of the sounds that Cam makes. He is starting to make nights a bit difficult for me, in that he does not like to be put in his cradle, but will sleep incredibly soundly if he's being held or cuddled. I'm pretty tired today, but probably because I missed my nap today. Which brings me to John. He hasn't fallen asleep at naptime for the last two days. I'm terrified he's trying to cut it out completely. Up until this, John and Micah's afternoon naps have coincided beautifully, giving me at least an hour nap myself most days. We'll see what happens.
John's 2nd bday is on Thursday. We've bought some 2nd hand hockey skates for him because he's very interested in the rink at our community centre. I know it's probably too early, but we'd like to let him try it out. John has already picked out his bday meal, too. Fries. When I asked him what else he wanted, he said "ketchup." Further probing only produced "salt and pepper" so we're having a fairly easy meal on Thursday :)
One more thing before I try to get Micah to sleep: John can now use the mouse touchpad on the laptop. The other day he was looking at a Wiggles video on YouTube and Cam showed him how to use it to point on a new video and click. John surfed through a few different Wiggles videos on his own, and we're not sure how, but ended on a German basketball game. It's so cute to see that I have to remind myself that I don't want him to get used to 1. watching TV and 2. using the computer (he'll have plenty of time to be addicted when he's older). We've got a video of it that I'll see if Cam can put up. That's all for now. Have a lovely week.

Sounds like life is very busy but lots of fun. 2 years old and fighting naps- that is very typical. Our kids have all done that sometime between 18months and 2. I am not sure how your rooms are set up but if his room is safe, I would just put him in there with the door shut ( securely so he can't get out and you know he is safe) then just sleep - set an alarm if need be ( often kids will be alarms enough :) HE will be fine playing for a while- and will most likely fall asleep not necessarily in his bed but...( i have had to train our kids to make them stay in bed as it is a matter of obedience. BUT it can be a battle and each family has decided what battles they want to take on. ) He will, most likely, eventually get over the nap fighting stage and go back to a regular nap.
I have found in the past that keeping them up till about 12 30 or 1 pm sometimes helps depending on when they wake up in the morning.
For me, naps are so important for the sanity to make it through the day esp if I am up at night feeding a baby still. With out sleep I find myself rather short tempered and grumpy. ( not a good combo. esp. if I also have 2 yr old who is lacking sleep and is also grumpy.)
Looking forward to seeing more photos and videos.
praying you will be able to get John to sleep for you at the needed times. And that you will have the energy for each day.
Most of all... have fun and don't feel guilty if you are tired and can't get it all done. I find it takes me about 3 months at least after having a new baby , to get back into routine etc. And even then I have my insane days!!!
