As promised...

Got my camera back yesterday, so here are the rest of the pictures. You are now up to date :)
A few funny little boy stories??
  • John came out of their room one night to tattle on Micah: "Micah is answering rude questions."
  • Micah asking questions about animals: "Does a crocodile have a bum? Does a bear have a bum?" When I responded that they do he said "Oh! They have to sit down!"
  • About 45 minutes into John's first attempt (well, since he was 2) at skating: As he's clacking along, on the verge of falling, he matter-of-factly says: "Skating is hard."
  • Both boys love Johnny Cash and can sing all of Ring of Fire (I discovered this when I overheard Micah singing to himself). I feel like I have now officially passed on everything necessary to my children, and can release them into the wild.
There are about a hundred more, but I've forgotten all the things that make them funny. My boys alternately fight and play so sweetly together. Micah has started trying to pick out numbers and letters in the last few days. There was absolutely no interest before, but the other day he pointed at a 4 and said "There's a number!" Before that he only knew R (pirate's favourite letter), S (What a snake says), and sometimes B (though he usually calls that an R too).
John is now officially registered for kindergarten in the fall, which was a bit stressful for his old mom. He's not really keen on going by himself, but after we visited the school he went into his room, got his backpack, loaded it up with what he thought he'd need for school (actually quite accurate), and wore it around for the rest of the day.
Cam is working away, spending a ridiculous portion of his weekdays away from home. Honestly, they expect 40 hours of work!!! ;) It's still an adjustment for him. I'm realizing more and more how nice it was to have his work only a five minute walk from our house this past year.
And me? I just had my first anti-social week in over a year (Cam says it's at least two). We didn't have anyone over and we didn't go to anyone's house from Monday to Friday. It felt a bit odd, but I didn't do anything about it. I felt like it was good for me. Next week, though, I'm already taking appointments ;)
Time for bed. We'll try to get back on the approximately-every-month plan again for updating this blog. Not sure how that will work out.
