Back from Oblivion

Well, there is a lot to catch you up on. First, John has gotten cuter - I know that's hard to believe, but it happened. Second, Amy is pregnant again - not so hard to believe, but it also happened. As far as John news goes, he's got an amazing vocabulary now, and picks up new words like crazy. He has only put two words together once (fish food - when he wanted to feed the fish), so we're still on a one-word-at-a-time basis. He has learned the word help, which I tell him to say instead of crying. It has been great, but this morning I went downstairs to change over the laundry. When I came back upstairs, I heard this very soft and calm "hawp. hawp." When I could see him, he was dangling precariously off the table, with one foot pressed against the edge of the chair to keep him from falling. Oh, yeah. He's learned to climb things now. He likes it a lot. John will be fifteen months old tomorrow. Because of the incredible tiredness I'm experiencing from the bun in the oven, we decided to wean John earlier than planned. He was at two feedings a day when we found out about the baby, and we were able to easily cut out the evening feeding - Cam put him to bed for a few nights (he falls asleep faster anyway with Cam) and there were no ill effects from that. I decided that I should probably drop his nap time feeding by the time he was fifteen months, and so Cam put him down for his nap on Sunday (I didn't realize Saturday would be my last feeding with him - probably would have cried through the whole thing if I had), and then after praying like crazy, John has gone to sleep nicely the last two days with me and without nursing. Yay (sigh). What else? John has been getting in more and more trouble - just like his old man (his mom is a saint). Sometimes when I go after him, he'll giggle and start running. Other times, he'll cry like crazy during his consequence (usually alone time in his room). It's so funny that it's hard to be serious while telling him "no". Anyway, tons of stories will pop in my head after I post this. I'll write them down in another three weeks. For now, here are some pictures, and hopefully I'll have a chance to post some video from a couple of weeks ago - just goofing around stuff. Take care. Amy
