Exciting Events in Eppland

After a three-week absence, we're back again. What has happened? What hasn't happened? Here you go:
  1. John and I went to visit my parents for a few days with our friend, Mel. We mostly went to check out the snowmobiling - very fun - but enjoyed our time with Grandma and Grandpa, too. Grandma decided to teach John to count, and he can currently count to five. Usually he needs prompting, but every now and then we hear him counting while he plays by himself. Very cute.
  2. Our car got stolen. When I was in Saskatchewan I got a call from Cam on Wednesday afternoon: "Um, I think our car has been stolen." Mel replied "Someone stole YOUR car?" Cam was working from home and went out to shovel snow right after it stopped snowing. Our car was gone from the backyard, and my own Hercule Poirot discovered the footprints had gone down the alley looking in different cars until they found ours. At least they had taste. They funniest thing is that as Cam was walking to the bus to go to school a couple of hours later, OUR CAR DROVE PAST HIM!!! Isn't that like in a movie? Cam went to the nearest home and asked to borrow their phone. He called 911, and the cops found our car abandoned in a back alley later that evening. Still waiting to hear what insurance is going to do with the car. Until then, I'm pretending to be a 60 year old lady as I drive our rental PT Cruiser (they didn't give us a choice).
  3. Auntie Shayna is here for a visit. We've had loads of fun doing mostly nothing. We've meant to go shopping for groceries for the last 3 days, but no luck so far :) We're out of milk now, so that means that we will have to go early tomorrow morning.
  4. We heard the babies heartbeat today. It was very faint, but oh, so cool. Shayna was there and heard it, too. They say my official due date is Sept 6th. Yay! I'm almost 3 months along!
  5. Uncle Bill and Auntie Hilda came by for a visit today. We watched the lunar eclipse and Uncle Bill won John's undying affection. It was fun too see them.

Besides these pictures, that's about it. Hope everyone is doing well. We're planning a couple of trips out to the West coast in the next 5 months or so, so if you're out there or along the way, see if you can fit us in somewhere (we'll be emailing). Take care.
