Well, at 7:30 am I consider it far too early to be organized enough to be posting on the blog, yet here I am. I guess that's what happens when you're out of bed at 6.
Let's see if I can give you some news on us:
Let's see if I can give you some news on us:
- In the last two weeks David has slept through the night over half the time. Not sure if this last weekend's camping trip ruined that, but I think we're on the right track. On the down side, David has been waking up at 6, but I think I can handle it after 7-8 hours of unbroken sleep.
- John has finished grade one! His last week of school was cancelled due to the flooding, but he went in the last day to hang out with his friends and collect all his stuff. He's pretty excited to be a "grade two-er".
- Micah is gearing up to start kindergarten in the fall, and we've learned that he's got two great teachers. Even more exciting for him, though, is that we're going to try to put him in gymnastics.
- David is amazing with his little hammer and nails toy. He is currently hammering away on it. He sometimes hits with such power that he sinks the nail with one shot. Also, he will change his grip on the hammer if he doesn't like the angle the hammer is hitting at.
- Micah is slowly improving on his bike. I don't think the training wheels will come off this year, but we're working on stamina so that we can do some family bike trips together.
- I am in outdoor improvement mode, but have been held up by trying to find paving slabs for a walkway from the back gate to the front gate. Any ideas? I'm looking for more natural looking stones that I can create nice curves with.
- Cam had an incredible wipeout on his bike while attempting not to drive over John. Shayna saw the whole thing and said that it's a good thing it was Cam. She would never have gone to such lengths to avoid driving over our son.
- We are gearing up for our big trip to Utah. It will be a lot of driving, but some really cool things to see. The boys are working on another research project so they know what to expect down there.
I think that's all for now. Hope you're all having a great summer! Here are the pictures.

for pavers- maybe quick mix concrete? add colour? and place the kids stone collections appropriately before it sets up.
Make your own shape forms with 8 mm plywood or flower bed edging?
Wish I could donate 1/10 of Aunt Hilda's stone collection!!!
Thanks, Uncle Bill!
