An Astounded Amy

I have abandoned John upstairs with an Oreo and a bag of vegetables, because I have to tell you what he just did.  I was reading one of the Winnie the Pooh stories to him and got distracted.  John started reading, and I couldn't believe it.  I had to read "ought", "right", "shall", and "lift" for him, and corrected him on "dear" (he read "bear") and "there" (he read "where").  This is what he read:
'No,' said Kanga, 'Now jump in, Roo, dear, and we'll go home.'
'You ought to look at that tree right over there,' said Rabbit.  'Shall I lift you in, Roo?'
Yeah, I never meant to teach him to read until Kindergarten.  So much for that :)
